Charly García, 74-year-old Argentine musicianis admitted to a healthcare center after surgery in which part of his kidney was removed. According to his representative, the evolution of his recovery is favorable.
The artist underwent a partial nephrectomy on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The procedure was scheduled to remove part of the kidney, allowing only the damaged portion of the organ to be removed and preserve the greatest amount of healthy tissue to maintain kidney function.
After the intervention, he receives dialysis treatment and remains under observation at the Diagnostic Institute, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, without any complications.
