The objective of the Expo was to provide future university students with a close experience with the academic community. During the day, participants were able to explore the different training opportunities and learn about the values ​​that distinguish the institution.

Also, they were able to explore the academic offerings of the different faculties and programs, including: Social Communication Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Legal Sciences, Engineering, Economic Sciences, Medicine, Architecture, Dentistry, as well as the Salesian Institute of Online Education.

“We seek to open ourselves to the Guatemalan public, with proposals for young people in the nine faculties that are distributed in the three different headquarters of the house of studies. We have scholarship programs that we call the Opportunities Plan, and, with them, so that they have the opportunity to be trained more than a professional, into an ethical person who serves the country in an altruistic way and who makes a difference,” commented priest Rómulo Gallegos, Rector of Universidad Mesoamericana.

This year it is estimated that between 600 to 650 people visited the headquarters. On May 29, the Expo will be held at the Quetzaltenango headquarters, from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, where the Faculty of Engineering is located, Avenida Las Américas 9-80, zone 9.

As part of its academic strengthening, both the Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango headquarters present new infrastructure of laboratories and high-impact academic services, aimed at strengthening the practical training and professional development of students.

In addition, the participants learned about the different areas that make up the comprehensive university experience, including sports, cultural and pastoral activities, fundamental pillars of the Salesian educational model.

The UMES 2026 Expo also reflects the family spirit that characterizes the university community and its Salesian identity, focused on training competent professionals, with values ​​and committed to the common good.

The day included recreational activities, interactive academic experiences and spaces for coexistence, designed to accompany young people in their professional choice process in a positive and motivating way.
