The discussion on topics such as cyber attacks and laws that regulate digital security in Guatemala is activated when incidents mostly occur.

Digital threat tracking
In this study, the analysis of the digital conversation focused on a geolocated audience in Guatemala and on topics linked to topics such as online scams, electronic fraud, data theft, phishing and social engineering: threats to digital presence and transactions in virtual environments. It also includes the debate on the Cybersecurity Law.
The monitoring was carried out using social listening technologies, from the tracking of keywords, phrases and associated synonyms, using the Goo tool to monitor social stream (social networks and digital platforms) and mainstream (digital media and information sites).
The analysis period spanned from January 1, 2023 to March 14, 2026, during which a total of 43,220 mentions were analyzed, understood as pieces of web content that match the terms defined by configuration or geolocation, and each one was assigned a sentiment classified as positive, negative or neutral.
