Stories coincide and point to an alleged sexual aggressor

“A man, on a red motorcycle, was traveling at 20 kilometers per hour—slow movement— through the villages of Puerto San José and Masagua, Escuintla. Nobody noticed anything strange; “He was just another motorcyclist, but the investigation details that he corresponds to the profile of the alleged sexual predator Juan Felipe Sicán, 21 years old, who would have attacked six women,” stated the Prosecutor’s Office against Femicide, of the Public Ministry (MP), in the Femicide Court of Escuintla, in a first statement hearing.

Sicán is the main suspect in six sexual assaults against women, which occurred in Masagua and Puerto San José, Escuintla.}

According to the MP’s hypothesis, the subject monitored his victims and then abused them. The reported attacks were committed for four consecutive months—November and December 2025, and January and February 2026. The accused would have attacked once a month.

The victims recounted the events and revealed details considered “sadistic” by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Aggression and words

On a desolate street in the El Maíz community, Puerto San José, at 8 p.m. on November 11, Sicán was traveling on his red motorcycle, according to the MP’s investigation, and on that date he would have committed his first sexual assault.

A few meters away, Diana* approaches on her motorcycle, and the subject intercepts her, places his hand on the wheel of the vehicle, pulls out a gun and forces her to the side. Then he forced her to enter a field next to the road, into some sugarcane fields, where the subject hid while raping his victims.

Diana* told investigators that she went about 40 meters into the reeds and was sexually assaulted there. During the attack, Sicán allegedly slapped her and shouted profane words at her, without ever putting down his weapon. The victim said that sometimes he pointed it at her head. After committing the abuse, Sicán would have escaped.

Recorded Abuse

A few days before Christmas, according to the MP’s investigation, Sicán attacked again. This time, the victim was Natalia*, a young woman who was driving her motorcycle alone at night.

She remembers that on December 19, 2025, she was traveling at 8:30 p.m. on a lonely road, near the Santa Isabel neighborhood, in Puerto San José. She doesn’t remember seeing anyone on the road, but suddenly she was faced with a motorcyclist who pointed a gun at her and forced her to get off the motorcycle. Investigators affirm that the aggressor was Sicán. The victim said that she was taken to a sugarcane plantation, where he abused her. According to Natalia*, during the attack, the attacker took out his mobile phone and recorded. Before escaping, he left her his phone number, an act that prosecutors say evidences “cynicism.”

The victim was left abandoned among the reeds, as the aggressor warned her that he would be watching her. An hour later, in the middle of the darkness, Natalia left the site. The attack left a series of bruises on his body.

mother and daughter

On the first day of 2026, another sexual attack was recorded. During the New Year’s celebration, on January 1, at 9 p.m., Sicán would have acted again, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, although he details that this case was “totally different,” because the victim was accompanied.

The mode of operation was the same. Sicán intercepted Karina* and her mother on a desolate and unlit street, on the road that connects with the village of Obed, Masagua, Escuintla. According to the young woman, the aggressor pointed a gun at them and forced them to walk through a reed field.

The victim estimates that they went about a hundred meters in and there the aggressor forced the mother to kneel and not move. Then he walked about 10 more meters, next to Karina, and sexually assaulted her.

Before escaping the scene, he took the young woman’s mother’s cell phone and a wallet. They both called for help 30 minutes later.

Vital memory

At kilometer 100 of the highway to Los Magueyes, Puerto San José, another sexual assault attributed to Sicán was recorded. This, according to the MP’s investigations, occurred at 8:30 p.m. on February 23.

The pattern was the same. Young Sofía* was traveling alone on a motorcycle and was intercepted on a desolate, poorly lit route, where a subject forced her to go into the reeds. At first she objected, but when she was threatened, she chose to obey. Before walking, he saw the motorcycle on which the aggressor was riding and managed to memorize the license plate number, in addition to observing that it was red. Like the previous victims, she was sexually assaulted.

The young woman remembers that Sicán pointed a gun at her and threatened her so that she would not report the abuse; However, with the information he remembered about the motorcycle, he took the courage to report it.
