On Sunday, April 26, The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (Mintrab) stated that it was investigating an incident on the Your Employment portal, after social networks were alerted about a possible hack and data leak.

This Monday, the Mintrab reported that, after the investigation carried out by its technical teams, it was confirmed that the attack was directed at the software that manages the Tu Empleo platform.

According to the portfolio, since the beginning of the 2024-2028 management, IT priorities were established, due to an internal analysis of existing systems.

In this sense, he stated that he developed a progressive process of updating and mitigating the security of computer systems, with the aim of reducing security gaps, simplifying procedures and improving services to the population.

He added that the computer security incident occurred on Sunday, April 26 and that, to carry out the investigations, he temporarily closed the aforementioned platform.

“It was detected that the security breach was due to the fact that the platform used an old API programming code, which has already been mitigated. After verification, the system was restored with the necessary security measures, which allowed its successful restoration,” highlighted Mintrab.

He indicated that the Information Systems Directorate took actions to close the security gap, correct the vulnerability and execute the necessary mitigation measures to safeguard the integrity of institutional information.

“Our teams continue to review all of our systems to prevent future computer incidents,” he noted.

It added that it carries out actions to safeguard the information of job seekers and the data of any other service, in order to prevent security incidents.
