This Wednesday, April 29, the fifth edition of the Bantrab 2026 Cycling Tour began, with a route from Lake Amatitlán.
In this edition, 96 runners from 16 teams participate; However, the tour was interrupted by a massive fall, which was captured on video.
According to preliminary information, several cyclists were taken to receive medical assistance.
After the emergency was attended to, the competition resumed with the cyclists who were not harmed during the incident.
According to the narrators, a motorist would have caused the mass fall of cyclists, who fell on the asphalt, where they received treatment.
Some of those affected suffered blows to the face and other parts of the body. The fall was recorded at kilometer 41 of the Palín-Escuintla Highway.
The Quetzaltecan cyclist Carlos Acajabón turned out to be the most affected by a blow to the head.
