The substance abuse awareness organization, created six days after the death of the actor of the series FriendsMatthew Perryreported that it will hold a charity auction. The funds will be used for substance use awareness and prevention programs.
For the event, at least 130 objects belonging to the actor will be auctioned, including scripts from the series Friendsawards received by Perry, photo albums and even elements of the production’s scenery.
Remembered for his role as Chandler Bing in Friendsthe actor’s belongings will be auctioned on June 5, in the midst of a judicial process that has convicted three of the five people accused of his death.
The Matthew Perry Foundation promotes the event, which features at least 26 scripts from Friendsincluding episodes like “The One Where Joey Speaks French” and “The One With Ross’s Tan.”
Two scripts donated by Warner Bros. containing the signatures of Matthew Perry and the rest of the series’ cast will also be auctioned.
Another of the public’s favorite objects is a replica of the yellow frame placed next to the peephole on the door of Monica and Rachel’s apartment, he noted. Infobae.
Items also include a personalized Batman-themed ping-pong table, the script for the show’s pilot episode — which retained the original title Six of One— and an award from the Screen Actors Guild, according to Guardian.
Statements collected by Guardian by Lisa Kasteler Calio, executive director of the foundation, highlight the importance that the fight against addiction from compassion and science had for Matthew Perry. Likewise, he highlighted that the funds will allow efforts to continue to combat stigma and facilitate access to care for people with addictions.
The auction will be held in Dallas, at the Heritage Auctions showroom, and can also be followed online for fans interested in purchasing any of the actor’s items.
The 130 lots were published on the official Heritage Auctions website as part of the promotion of the auction scheduled for next month.
