On the weekend of Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, Guatemala will have hot weather, with maximum temperatures between 26°C and 42°C, depending on the region.
According to the Insivumeh bulletin, the warm and foggy environment will continue during the day, with areas of morning fog and little cloudiness, alternating with partial cloudiness.
The forecast does not rule out drizzle or rain with electrical activity in regions from the south to the center of the country.
High temperatures this weekend may favor an increase in forest fire outbreaks.
The forecast weather conditions favor the presence of severe local storms, according to the Insivumeh.
The Motagua region and the eastern valleys will have high temperatures, since the thermometer could read between 40°C and 42°C.
For the northern region there will be an increase and development of cloudiness in the afternoon, with the possibility of scattered rains south of Petén. The thermometer will read between 39°C and 41°C.
In the Pacific regions, little cloudiness and a warm and humid environment are expected during the day. Maximum temperatures will range between 35°C and 38°C.
On the central plateau, which includes the capital, there will be an increase and development of cloudiness in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of drizzle or rain with electrical activity. The maximum temperature in the capital will be between 29°C and 31°C. In the central and western highlands, between 26°C and 32°C.

In Alta Verapaz, the temperature could reach between 32°C and 38°C, and in the Caribbean, between 34°C and 36°C.
The forecast foresees the approach of a weak cold front to the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, May 12.
