Injured people and one death in traffic accidents; vehicle closures reported

Firefighters and traffic authorities reported that on the morning of this Saturday, May 9, traffic accidents were recorded in different parts of the metropolis.

The Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Villa Nueva reported four people injured in the collision between a light vehicle, two trailers and a motorcycle.

The quadruple collision occurred at kilometer 27.8 of the route between Bárcenas and Santa Lucía Milpas Altas.

Dalia Santos, spokesperson for the PMT, reported that vehicular traffic remains temporarily interrupted due to the mishap.

The PMT of Mixco reported a motorcyclist who died in an accident on 18th Avenue and San Cristóbal Boulevard, heading to Las Charcas. He added that he coordinates the corresponding proceedings with the Public Ministry.

He also indicated that, as a result of the accident, a high vehicle load is reported on the San Cristóbal and Villa Deportiva boulevards.

The PMT also responded to a collision between two cars at kilometer 19 of the Inter-American Highway, heading towards Roosevelt Highway. No injuries were reported.

The Municipal Firefighters responded to another accident on Roosevelt Road and 34th Avenue, zone 11.

They added that three people traveling in a taxi suffered minor injuries and a nervous breakdown when the vehicle collided with a pole.
