From Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15, the weather in Guatemala will be marked by high temperatures, possible rain and the passage of a cold front, according to Insivumeh.
The Insivumeh bulletin explains that there will be areas with morning fog, a warm atmosphere during the day and little cloudiness, which will increase in the afternoon, with scattered rains and electrical activity from southern regions to the center of the country.
The scattered rains expected for this week are associated with the passage of a weak cold front north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, local conditions and instability in the Pacific.
Weather conditions are favorable for severe local storms.
Insivumeh recommends that the population not expose themselves to the sun for prolonged periods and hydrate themselves as best as possible.
For the Motagua region and the valleys of Oriente, an increase and development of cloudiness is expected in the afternoon and night, with the possibility of scattered rains and electrical activity in mountain areas. The thermometer could read between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius.
On the central plateau, which includes the capital, there will be a light northerly wind in the morning, changing to a light to moderate south-southwest in the afternoon. In the capital, maximum temperatures will range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, while in the central and western highlands, between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius.
In the Pacific regions there will be a possibility of rain with electrical activity. Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius.
The forecast for the northern region is drizzle or scattered rain with electrical activity at the beginning of the week, south of Petén. Maximum temperatures will be between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius.
For Alta Verapaz, the Caribbean and the Northern Transversal Strip, maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius.
