The National Civil Police (PNC) reported this Thursday, May 14, that at kilometer 16.8 of the route to the Pacific, in Villa Nueva, agents from Police Station 15 followed up on a complaint about a van that was allegedly transporting illicit goods. When they located the vehicle, they stopped the driver.
The PNC added that it immediately coordinated with anti-narcotics agents and prosecutors from the Public Ministry an inspection with the support of a K-9 team.
He stated that investigators located a hidden compartment in the back of the vehicle with several bundles of money.
According to the PNC, when the count was carried out, it was established that he transported Q232,500.
The entity indicated that the captured pilot was identified as Jeremías “N”, 33 years old.
The police report added that, when the detainee was asked about the origin of the money, he could not prove its legality, so it was placed at the disposal of a court along with the cash.
