A new controversy shakes Real Madrid after the statements of Kylian Mbappé, who publicly expressed his annoyance with coach Álvaro Arbeloa after being a substitute in the match against Oviedo.
The French forward assured that, before the match, Arbeloa told him that He was “the fourth forward” of the team, behind Vinícius, Mastantuono and Gonzalo.
However, the Madrid coach flatly denied that version in a press conference.
“I don’t have four forwards nor have I said anything like that. As long as I am here, I will decide who plays no matter what name they have,” Arbeloa responded.
The situation once again puts Mbappé at the center of controversy due to his tense relationships with several coaches throughout his career.
Before Arbeloa, the Frenchman had already had differences with technicians such as Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier and Luis Enrique during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.
One of the most memorable episodes occurred in 2020, when Mbappé showed his anger at being replaced by Tuchel in a match against Montpellier.
The attacker reacted with visible gestures of annoyance and avoided listening to the German coach’s explanations.
Also under Pochettino’s command he left critical statements towards the functioning of PSG, ensuring that the team had lost the intimidating character it had seasons ago.
With Christophe Galtier he starred in another controversy by publishing the message “#pivotgang” on social networks, a hint about the tactical role that he was asked to fulfill in the Parisian team. Later, Mbappé himself admitted that he did not feel comfortable playing with his back to the goal.
The differences also extended to the stage with Luis Enrique, especially due to the constant changes during the games. In one of them, against Marseille, Mbappé left the field upset and went directly to the locker room without greeting the Spanish coach.
Now, at Real Madrid, the French forward is once again under the media spotlight in a season marked by internal tensions and disappointing results for the white team.
