Provial reported that a multiple collision involved five vehicles this Friday, May 15, at kilometer 37.5 of the route to the Pacific, in Palín, Escuintla.
He added that no injuries were reported. The crashed vehicles obstruct the left southbound lane and the left northbound lane.
In another accident, a vehicle fell from a bridge into a river in the Agua Caliente sector, Zacualpa, Quiché.
The Volunteer Firefighters used special vertical rescue equipment to descend into the river and help the occupants of the car.
At the scene they rescued a man and a woman, who suffered multiple injuries and trauma resulting from the strong impact. Both were stabilized and transferred in a delicate condition to the Emergency Department of the Quiché Regional Hospital.
The Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported that a pick-up truck in which two people were traveling fell into a precipice of about 20 meters for unknown reasons. The accident occurred in the village of La Unión, Tejutla, San Marcos.
First responders provided them with pre-hospital care, as both suffered blows and injuries to different parts of their bodies, so they were stabilized and transferred to a private clinic in the departmental capital of San Marcos.
