Today at 7:00 p.m., Deportivo Suchitepéquez will host the roosters of the Deportivo San Pedro in the first leg of the First Division final, corresponding to the 2026 Clausura Tournament.

The series, which will be played for 180 minutes, will pit the two best teams in the championship against each other: Shecanos and Venados.

The first match will be played at the Carlos Salazar Hijo stadium, where the deer team will try to take advantage for the return match. The Sampedrano team guaranteed its pass to the National League after qualifying again for the title and will play, for the first time in its historyin the highest category of national soccer, after 32 years of experience.

With less pressure, the team led by Edwin “Chino” Vásquez will try to take advantage of the moment to also win the championship.

“Now that we have achieved our primary objective, we also want to take advantage of the opportunity to play in that final and try to win it… We hope to God that on Saturday we can go to Carlos Salazar Jr. to play a good game and get a positive result.”he indicated.

Both teams reached this stage after beating their rivals in the semifinals. San Pedro beat Nueva Santa Rosa 2-1 on aggregate, while Suchitepéquez eliminated Chichicasteco with a resounding 4-0.

San Pedro FC will play its second consecutive final in the First Division, while Suchitepéquez will try to be crowned champion before facing Nueva Santa Rosa—2025 Apertura champion—in the series that will define the second promotion to the National League.

Everything is ready for the opening whistle of a final that promises intensity and emotions. The first 90 minutes could set the course of the series.
