The Guatemalan oral tradition has marked generations. Listening to stories about La Llorona, El Sombrerón or El Cadejo has scared more than one person. These legends that the grandparents told will resurface in a staging at the National Palace of Culture.
For one night, the venue that protects the country’s history will serve as the setting for an event that will bring the emblematic characters of the Guatemalan imagination during the Night of Legends.
The event, which will be held on May 23, will bring together mysterious spooks such as La Llorona, La Siguanaba and El Sombrerón, who will await the public in the spaces of the National Palace of Culture. The tour takes place within the framework of International Museum Day, where the group Perro Gris Producciones will take the public to immerse themselves in the legends of Guatemala.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, this activity is designed for all ages and seeks to allow attendees to rediscover the legends and characters of yesteryear in a different way.
The event is not limited to observation. The Ministry of Culture and Sports invites participants to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of legends, so they will be able to attend dressed as these characters.
