The Guatemala National Team confirmed this Tuesday the list of legionnaires called for the June FIFA Date, in which the Bicolor will face the Czech Republic on June 4 and Ecuador on the 7th, both in the United States. Coach Luis Fernando Tena thus begins the preparation of the national team towards the 2026 World Cup.
Among the main news is the return of goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen, from the Columbus Crew, who had not been summoned for the previous friendly against Algeria. In that match the starter was Kenderson Navarro, from Municipal.
The call also includes young legionaries who continue to establish themselves abroad. Aarón Herrera, from DC United; Arquímedes Zacarias, from Loudoun United FC; and Daniel Méndez Sánchez, from Pachuca in Mexico, once again received the trust of the coaching staff, especially Méndez, who is going through a good moment after making his debut with the Mexican club’s first team.
The list is completed with Olger Escobar, from CF Montreal; Darwin Lom, from The Strongest of Bolivia; and Matthew Evans, from LAFC. In this friendly series, Guatemala will seek to achieve its first victory of the year, after losing 0-1 against Canada in January and suffering a tough 0-7 defeat against Algeria in March.
The legionnaires summoned
- Nicholas Hagen—Columbus Crew (MLS)
- Aarón Joseph Herrera — DC United (MLS)
- Olger Escobar — CF Montreal (MLS)
- Daniel Omar Méndez — CF Pachuca (Liga MX)
- Arquímedes Zacarias — Loudoun United FC

The Guatemala National Team will hold two friendly matches in the United States during the FIFA Date in June. The Bicolor will face the Czech Republic on June 4 and will later face Ecuador on the 7th, in matches that will serve as preparation for the next official competitions.
These commitments will be key for Luis Fernando Tena to continue evaluating variants and fine-tuning details ahead of the start of the Concacaf Nations League in September. The Mexican coach, who recently renewed his contract until 2030, wants Guatemala to find consistency and better results after a difficult start to 2026.
