The Portuguese José Mourinho will be the coach of Real Madrid if Florentino Pérez is elected president in next Sunday’s elections.
On the official account of the “Florentino 2026” candidacy, the image of the Portuguese coach with the Real Madrid shirt appears and, behind him, on a white background, the word “Yes”.
Florentino Pérez announced the agreement with Mourinho at the moment when the other candidate for the presidency of the white club, Enrique Riquelme, began a television interview.
At the same time, Pérez published a video on social networks that begins with the phrase: “While on TV they talk, they talk and they talk…”, and continues with the image of Mourinho dressed in white and the “Yes”.
As had been hinted, Mourinho will be the coach of Real Madrid if Florentino Pérez is elected on Sunday as president of the entity.
The Portuguese already coached the Spanish team for three seasons, from 2010 to 2013, and won a League, a Copa del Rey and a Super Cup. Now, 13 years later, he can return to Real Madrid by Florentino Pérez.
José Mourinho has directed Benfica in Portugal this season, where he arrived after two seasons at Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
If Florentino is elected president of Real Madrid on Sunday, the Portuguese coach will be officially presented days later.

For its part, Enrique Riquelme announced that Erling Haaland will be one of the star signings of his sports project if he wins the white club elections.
During an interview in “El Hormiguero”, Riquelme, with a signed notarial act, included the Manchester City striker among his electoral promises, an addition that would be added to the presence of Raúl González as sports director and of Fernando Hierro at the head of the Madrid quarry.
