The Majadas Forum, in zone 11 of Guatemala City, will once again be the venue that will host the International Book Fair in Guatemala (Filgua), which this year celebrates its XXIII edition.

From July 7 to 19, 2026, with Germany as guest country of honor, Filgua will have more than 667 cultural activities, the participation of national and international authors and an extensive literary and artistic agenda.

According to the organizers, The XXIII edition of Filgua has the motto “Let’s go for a country readers” and seeks to continue bringing reading to audiences of all ages and strengthen access to culture, imagination and critical thinking.

This year, the International Book Fair in Guatemala will have 159 stands of 82 exhibitors, national and international, and the mission of once again turning the country into a meeting point for literature, thought and cultural exchange.

Filgua Music

Considered a tradition, one of the activities that has been classified as the finishing touch and ideal to close the days full of culture and knowledge, the organization will once again bet on Filgua Música, a space that brings together musicians and national groups, which give attendees the opportunity to enjoy live performances in a family and cultural environment.

“Filgua Música creates a meeting point where literature and the arts converge, enriching the experience of visitors and promoting Guatemalan talent,” the organization stated.

The outdoor Plazoleta is the stage that is used on most occasions to celebrate concerts in Filgua and this year, artists and groups such as the following will participate:

  • Tiger Leap
  • The Bugs
  • One Man Band
  • Female Concert Marimba
  • Fine Arts Concert Marimba

Marimbas

In previous editions, the marimbas have given special concerts on Sundays at 12 noon. However, this year the Women’s Concert Marimba and the Fine Arts Concert Marimba will participate, and their performances will be revealed in the coming days.
