The National Civil Police (PNC) expanded details of the 27 raids carried out this June 9 in the El Gallito neighborhood, zone 3 of the capitalwhere the criminal structure called “Dementes Locos” was impacted.
He added that the proceedings, in conjunction with the Public Ministry and the Guatemalan Army, were carried out in follow-up to investigations into cases of extortion.
Among the results, the PNC highlighted the capture of Ana “N”, 33 years old, who had two arrest warrants for extortion. In addition, he has a record for the same crime in 2024.

Six bags of marijuana were also seized during the investigation, he added.
Hugo “N”, 22 years old, alias “Topo”, was found with a bulletproof vest, two magazines and 50 rifle ammunition.
Investigators also detained Germin “N”, 29, at the municipal landfill in zone 3, where he was illegally transporting a shotgun; In addition, he was carrying two pistols with the respective documentation.
Three motorcycles were also seized. One of these, with license plate M048-LXK, had been stolen on April 21 in San Raymundo, while the other two had alterations in the chassis number and lacked license plates.
The proceedings also included aerial support from helicopters from the Government Air Unit and drones from the PNC.
“These actions made it possible to impact the criminal structure called Dementes Locos and reaffirm the commitment of the security forces in the fight against delinquency and organized crime,” reported the Guatemalan Army.
They locate tunnel
According to information shared by the PNC, they found a tunnel in an abandoned building.
He added that, apparently, the tunnel is used as an underground passage to the Las Calaveras neighborhood, zone 3.
