In the High Risk Court C, this Wednesday, June 10, the intermediate stage hearing takes place against Ruth Nohemí López, involved in one of the attacks against agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) that occurred on January 18, after riots in three prisons.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP), the vehicle used to attack the agents at the Villa Nueva Justice Center was the property of the accused.
He added that, to divert the investigation, López filed a complaint for the alleged theft of the vehicle hours after the incident, under the instructions of a person identified as “Chema.”
The MP accuses her of murder, illicit association, obstruction of justice and simulation of a crime. In addition, he accuses her of being a member of a clique of the Barrio 18 gang that operates in Villa Nueva.
Her role in the gang was as a “employee” or collaborator, and she would have acted under the orders of gang leaders that January 18.
According to the MP, on that occasion the attackers were traveling in the vehicle registered in the name of the accused and attacked the PNC agents Claudia Azucena Muñoz Ramos and Samuel Valentín Matul, who died at the scene.
Then, his accomplices fled and abandoned the vehicle in the parking lot of a restaurant.
According to the investigation, he later received messages on WhatsApp. A man sent him four audios in which he asked him to report the theft of the vehicle. The subject identified himself as “Chema”, and she asked him: “Is everything okay?”
The man told him that “yes or yes file the complaint” and? “make up what to say”, because they had lost the car.
Then she sent another message to say that “they had believed him” and attached a photograph of the complaint document, which would be sent to the MP.
According to the investigating entity, in the complaint Ruth Nohemí López stated that at 3:30 p.m. two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted her and stripped her of the vehicle.
The MP found at least 46 ballistic evidence at the crime scene and collected 235 photographs. In the car they found a helmet, wallets and documents.
Will face trial
In its resolution, the Court resolved that Ruth Nohemí López face trial for the crimes of murder, illicit association and obstruction of justice, for her alleged participation in the attack against PNC agents outside the Villa Nueva Justice Center.
It remains to be determined which court will be in charge of the debate and the hearing to offer evidence was scheduled for June 16 at 9:30 a.m.
