The 2026 FIFA World Cup will continue its celebration with two opening ceremonies, this time in Canada, where various celebrities will come together to offer a show celebrating the country’s music, culture and, of course, soccer.
One of the surprises is the incorporation of three opening ceremonies, one for each host country. On June 11, artists like Shakira, Burna Boy, Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda, Danny Ocean and J Balvin took the party to the Mexico City Stadium, but it will be this June 12 when Canada and the United States celebrate their own inaugurations.
From the Toronto Stadium, the Canadian party will feature artists such as Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette and William Prince. According to FIFA, this show will represent Canadian culture, as well as diversity and the sense of community through a mosaic.
Prior to the confrontation between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina, artists will take to the field to offer a show in which, through a mosaic that reinterprets the FIFA World Cup trophy, the population, cultures and communities that define the country will be shown, FIFA highlighted.
“This ceremony will welcome the entire world with a dynamic celebration inspired by its communities, its great diversity and the unifying power of football,” said FIFA when announcing that this ceremony will be held 90 minutes before the opening whistle of the match, that is, at 11:30 Guatemala time.
It is known that the inaugural show will begin with a countdown that will take the public on a tour of Canada with the aim of showing its beauty from coast to coast. Then there will be a show that brings together international artists to perform part of the hits from the Official FIFA World Cup Album.
