Five members of a structure accused of defrauding people through the alleged processing of work visas for the United States were convicted for the second time, after an Appeals Chamber ordered a repeat of the trial due to alleged shortcomings in the previous process, judicial sources reported this Monday, June 15.
The sentence was handed down by the Ninth Criminal Sentencing Court. The defendants had already been sentenced on March 28, 2025 by the Eighth Criminal Sentencing Court; However, a second instance resolution annulled that ruling and ordered a new debate.
After the repeat trial, the Ninth Court found the defendants guilty of various crimes related to illicit association, personal fraud, and laundering of money or other assets.
The sentences were as follows:
- Ana Lucrecia Ramos Roque: six years incommutable prison for money laundering or other assets and the payment of a financial bond of Q106,765.40.
- Yuli Marleny Quintanilla Ordóñez: six years incommutable prison for illicit association, one year for personal fraud and six years incommutable prison for money laundering or other assets. In addition, you must pay a financial bond of Q72 thousand 198.85.
- Amalia Justiniana Pérez: six years incommutable prison for illicit association, one year for personal fraud and six years incommutable prison for money laundering or other assets. You must also pay a financial bond of Q74,159.
- Sandra Patricia Molina Martínez: six years incommutable prison for illicit association, one year for personal fraud and six years incommutable prison for money laundering or other assets. Likewise, you must pay a financial bond of Q69,700.
- Saúl Misael Mendoza Carranza: six years incommutable prison for money laundering or other assets and the payment of a financial bond of Q55,327.
As part of the ruling, the court ordered that the ruling be published in two of the country’s largest circulation print newspapers. The expenses of this publication must be covered by the convicted persons.
