The San Juan de Dios General Hospital reported this Tuesday, June 16, that it currently registers 66 active cases of covid-19according to the monitoring carried out by its Epidemiology Department.
According to the data, 43 of the cases correspond to health personnel and 23 to patients, mainly in the Hemato-oncology, Nephrology and Internal Medicine services.
Given this situation, the healthcare center indicated that it reinforced prevention and biosafety measures, including the mandatory use of a mask, frequent hand washing and epidemiological surveillance in different areas.
It stated that it has sufficient protective equipment and that services continue to function normally while control and monitoring actions are maintained.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of covid-19 cases in Guatemala, in 2020, until June 14, 2026, the accumulated number is 1.3 million throughout the country.
Meanwhile, deaths nationwide since 2020 total 20,323.
According to the data, the record of recovered cases nationwide since 2020 is 1.2 million.
