An argument in traffic ended with the death of a man and the capture of the alleged perpetrator in Mixco. Additionally, in the Southern Periférico, the occupants of a vehicle were attacked with gunshots, the authorities reported this Wednesday, June 17.

On the San Juan and 2nd streets. avenue in zone 4 of Mixco, at the entrance to the Paseo de los Campeones, a man died after being shot during an argument in traffic, reported the National Civil Police (PNC), which also reported the capture of the alleged perpetrator.

Volunteer Firefighters reported that, due to the severity of the injuries, the victim died at the scene.

In this case, the PNC reported that the alleged perpetrator of the armed attack was captured and that it originated from an argument in traffic.

“The alleged perpetrator of the crime of a man on the San Juan road, zone 4 of Mixco, has been captured by police from police station 16. A gun was seized and two vehicles were involved. The incident occurred after an argument over vehicular traffic issues,” the PNC reported on its social networks.

Meanwhile, Amílcar Montejo, director of Communication at Emetra, reported on his social networks that unknown individuals attacked the occupants of a private vehicle with bullets.

He added that the armed incident occurred on the El Incienso bridge, in the Southern Periférico, in the direction of zone 3 towards zone 7.

“According to preliminary information, the driver and his passenger are injured and will be admitted to a hospital,” Montejo wrote.

Víctor Gómez, spokesperson for the Volunteer Firefighters, reported that a person injured by a gunshot was taken from the scene to the emergency room of the San Juan de Dios General Hospital.

Some versions at the scene indicate that it was an attack against the pilot of an irregular taxi, but this has not been confirmed by the authorities.
