Professional associations call for elections to join the Comptroller’s Nomination Commission

The boards of directors of the professional associations that, by legal provision, make up the Nomination Commission for Comptroller General of Accounts called for the election of their representatives. The Nomination Commission, which will select six candidates to occupy the leadership of the Comptroller General of Accounts for the period 2026-2030, is made up of two bodies: the union representatives and the deans of the faculties of Public Accounting and Auditing, under the presidency of one of the rectors elected in an assembly of the Forum of Rectors of the entire country.

The election of the president has caused interest in public opinion due to the promotion of Walter Mazariegos to perform that function.

Congress called, on June 2, for the integration of the postulator.
