Investigators from the Anti-Kidnapping Command of the National Civil Police (PNC) captured Esmaily “N”, 30 years old, accused of participating in the kidnapping of a man on the route to San José Poaquil, Chimaltenango.
The PNC reported this Friday, June 19, that the police action was developed following a complaint in which they were alerted about the deprivation of liberty of a man, for whose release they demanded Q50 thousand.
Using investigation techniques and strategies, specialists from the Anti-Kidnapping Command managed to start a negotiation with the kidnappers and agreed to deliver Q20,000 for the release of the victim, according to the PNC.
The institution explained that the investigators mounted an operation in the village of San José Chirijuyú, Tecpán Guatemala, Chimaltenango, where they captured the suspect when he was preparing to collect the requested money.
“The intervention allowed the victim, a 30-year-old man, to be rescued alive and released safely,” the PNC added.
