He Clarifest Guatemala 2026 reaches its ninth edition, with four days dedicated to music, in which the main protagonist will be the clarinet.
From Tuesday, June 23 to Friday, June 26, a series of concerts will be offered, most of them freewhich will take place in the National Palace of Culture, the “Germán Alcántara” National Conservatory of Music and on public roads, specifically in front of the Historic Temple of San Francisco, on Sixth Avenue and 13th street in zone 1.
Each presentation will be different and It will feature national and international musicians, the Clarinet Orchestra, the Municipal Youth Orchestra, the Orchestra to Support Artistic Training and the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN), who will alternate in the concerts.
Sergio Reyesteacher of the Municipal School of Music and first clarinet of the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN), organizer of Clarifest Guatemala, explained that This year they will have the participation of clarinetists from the United States, Puerto Rico and Colombia.
“It’s not just about concerts, because the objective is more pedagogical. International teachers also come to teach young people at the National Conservatory of Music. In addition, there will be conferences on different aspects related to music, the clarinet and wind instruments,” he explains.

The first Clarifest Guatemala was held in 2007 and, since then, it has been held every two years. However, next year will be an exception, since, as this festival dedicated to the clarinet marks two decades, there will be a special anniversary edition, as announced by Reyes.
