Elements of the Special Water Rescue and Rescue Brigade “Frog Men”, of the Volunteer Firefighters, located this June 20 a submerged vehicle in the Ayarza Lagoon, where the fall of a car with people on board was reported.
According to a report from the institution, nine specialized rescuers were mobilized to the viewpoints sector, between the villages of Media Cuesta and El Portezuelo, to carry out the search work.
According to Firefighters, certified public safety divers located the vehicle approximately 45 feet deep.
However, the institution indicated that it was not possible to locate any person in the surroundings of the car, despite the work carried out in the area.
The lifeguards made more than 20 dives during the day and reached depths of up to 90 feet, according to the official report.
The Volunteer Firefighters reported that operations were suspended at the end of the day, in compliance with safety regulations and standards for divers.
“The search was suspended for today. Tomorrow the personnel will be replaced and operations at the site will resume,” states the report released by the institution.
