Santiago Bin Max, pilot of the motorcycle on which Lucrecia Chávez was traveling, who died as a result of a traffic accident on the San Juan road, zone 7 of the capital, was benefited with lack of merit after the Public Ministry tried to prosecute him for the incident, judicial sources reported this Monday, June 22.
The accident occurred on June 17 in front of the San Juan Shopping Center, where a triple collision occurred in which a Mercedes-Benz car and two motorcycles were involved. As a result of the accident, Chávez died at the Roosevelt Hospital, where she was transferred by emergency services.
After the incident, the authorities charged Bin Max and Heidi Rottman, the driver of the car involved, with the crime of manslaughter while investigations were carried out to establish the corresponding responsibilities.
The hearing took place in the Torre de Tribunales Court, where the Public Prosecutor’s Office charged Bin Max with the crime of manslaughter, considering that he had failed to take due care, since the police prevention indicated that he did not have a driver’s license or circulation card.
However, the defense presented the corresponding documentation and indicated that Heidi Rottman was already being prosecuted for this fact.
After listening to the arguments of the parties, the judge on duty granted Santiago Bin Max a lack of merit and indicated that it is up to the Public Ministry to clarify the facts and determine the responsibilities derived from the accident.
Investigations continue to establish the exact sequence of the collision and the participation of each of those involved.
