The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) shared this Monday, June 22, what the cost of fuel per gallon will be in Guatemala from June 23 to 29, whose reference prices show a new reduction.

The shared prices have applied the subsidy of Q8 per gallon of diesel and Q5 per gallon of superior and regular gasoline, since fuels have registered increases derived from the war conflict in the Middle East.

Last April, the MEM published the agreement that establishes the calculation mechanism to determine the terminal sales reference prices and the reference prices to the final consumer.

The purpose of the agreement is to adequately implement temporary social support for diesel and gasoline consumers.

The MEM explains in its information how the reference prices will be this week in Guatemala City, the departmental capitals and the municipalities.

New discount

According to the update, the reference prices in the terminal (Ex Rack) were established at Q29.37 for a gallon of premium gasoline, Q28.37 for regular gasoline and Q24.53 for diesel.

Meanwhile, the reference prices for the final consumer at the service stations in Guatemala City are Q32.14 for a gallon of superior gasoline, Q31.14 for regular gasoline and Q27.30 for diesel.

Compared to the prices of the previous week, the gallon of premium gasoline fell by Q1.71; Regular gasoline also dropped Q1.71 per gallon, while diesel registered a reduction of Q2.95 per gallon in Guatemala City.

According to the MEM, for V-Power and higher gasoline, a difference value of Q0.50 per gallon is established between these two products.

The reference price in the municipalities includes a reference range for the variation of prices to the final consumer.

For self-service and full service, a difference value of Q1.00 per gallon is established between both services.

Calculated variations:

Product June 16-22 June 23-29 Variation
Superior (Guatemala City) Q33.85 Q32.14 -Q1.71
Regular (Guatemala City) Q32.85 Q31.14 -Q1.71
Diesel (Guatemala City) Q30.25 Q27.30 -Q2.95

The new prices come from the MEM table valid from June 23 to 29, 2026.
