For this weekend, corresponding to Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, a rainy and warm environment is expected in several regions of Guatemala, according to the bulletin of the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh).

The rains forecast for this weekend are associated with local conditions, the entry of humidity from both coasts and the passage or approach of an easterly wave.

According to Insivumeh, meteorological conditions favor the recording of severe local storms during the afternoon.

Areas with fog are also expected in the early hours of the morning and at night, a warm and humid environment, as well as rain accompanied by electrical activity in the afternoon and evening.

In the Central Plateau, which includes the capital, little cloudiness is expected alternating with partially cloudy skies, a warm and humid environment. In addition, there will be an increase and development of cloudiness during the afternoon and evening, with drizzle or rain accompanied by electrical activity. The wind will blow from the northeast, light, changing to the south in the afternoon.

Maximum temperatures in the capital will range between 26°C and 28°C, while in the central and western highlands they will be between 23°C and 29°C.

In the Pacific region there will be little cloudiness and a warm and humid environment during the day. In the afternoon and evening cloudiness will increase, with scattered rains accompanied by electrical activity. Maximum temperatures will be between 34°C and 36°C.

In the Motagua region and the valleys of Oriente, morning fog is expected, with little cloudiness alternating with partially cloudy skies and a warm and humid environment during the day. In the afternoon cloudiness will increase, with the possibility of scattered rains and electrical activity. Maximum temperatures will range between 36°C and 38°C.

For the northern region, Alta Verapaz, the Caribbean and the Northern Transversal Belt, the forecast indicates a warm and humid environment, with the possibility of rain. Maximum temperatures will be between 26°C and 37°C.
