This is how they capture four alleged hitmen from Barrio 18

Four alleged members of the Barrio 18 gang were captured this Monday, June 29, by agents from the 15th Police Station of the National Civil Police (PNC) when they were traveling in a pirate taxi and, according to preliminary investigations, they were on their way to commit an armed attack in the Chichimecas sector, Villa Canales.

The detainees were identified as Denis “N”, 29 years old; Pablo “N”, 22; Wilmer “N”, 32, and Alonso “N”, 27. The authorities point them out as alleged members of that criminal structure.

During the operation, the agents seized two firearms, four magazines and 91 9-millimeter caliber ammunition. Among the seized chargers are two high-capacity snail-type chargers, as well as four cell phones that will be analyzed as part of the investigation.

According to police records, one of the pistols has been reported stolen since July 2, 2025, when it was stolen in the Kennedy neighborhood, zone 18 of the capital. The second weapon lacks legal registration in Guatemala.

The authorities reported that Wilmer “N” has two records for the crimes of rape with aggravated punishment and sexual assault.

The PNC indicated that investigations continue to establish whether the four captured are linked to cases of extortion and armed attacks registered in that sector of Villa Canales. The detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent court so that their legal situation could be resolved.
