Cameras captured the moments after the collision of a couple riding a motorcycle at the entrance to the Atlántida neighborhood, zone 18 of the capital. In the video it is observed that, after the impact, the driver gets out of the vehicle, warns that Nidia Renata Bautista García remains under the car and, seconds laterrises again, retreats and passes over the victim again before flee from the place.
The recording became one of the main evidences of the criminal investigation that continues against Jorge David Rodas Linares.

They agreed that decisions such as trusting behind the wheel, allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and abandoning victims can aggravate both human consequences and criminal responsibilities.
“Driving a vehicle implies carrying a potential weapon”
One of the experts pointed out that “When we are driving a vehicle we are carrying a potential weapon that can harm and take the life of another person”explaining that a reckless maneuver can have irreversible consequences.
He added that attempting to change lanes in a tight space or turning back suddenly when you realize you’ve missed an entrance considerably increases the risk of causing an accident.
Analysts also indicated that many drivers develop excessive confidence when traveling known routes, which decreases your level of attention. They explained that this confidence even leads some people to believe that they can drive after consuming alcohol because “they already know the way”, a behavior that they described as irresponsible.
Likewise, they recommended that, if a driver exceeds the point where he should enter, the most prudent thing is to continue driving and look for a safe place to return, instead of making sudden maneuvers that could put other road users at risk.
They also reminded that motorcyclists must remain attentive when traveling near highway entrances or exits, since these points concentrate a greater risk of road conflicts.
Investigation continues as family awaits justice
The event occurred on the night of Sunday, June 28, when Kevin Alexander Jimenez and Nidia Renata Bautista García They were returning home on a motorcycle after celebrating the 9th birthday of Renata’s youngest daughter in advance. According to Jiménez, a car hit them from behind and, after falling to the asphalt, he observed how the vehicle continued to advance with its partner under the car.
Subsequently, a judge decided to link the process penalty to Rodas Linares for attempted homicide and very serious injuries to the detriment of Nidia Renata Bautista García, in addition to culpable injuries against Kevin Alexander Jiménez, and ordered that he remain in preventive detention while the Public Ministry expands the investigation.
“We want him to answer for what he did.”
While the investigation progresses, the family of the victims remains waiting for the medical evolution of Renata, who suffered the amputation of an arm and remains hospitalized.
