The meeting between Mexico and England, scheduled for this Sunday, July 5, has generated great expectations on social networks. Even the Mexicans are already planning the song they will sing if they achieve victory.
Facebook and X users promote Here it is not that way, by the Mexican band Caifanes, originally released in June 1994, more than three decades ago, as the anthem of Mexico for the 2026 World Cup.
The topic would be the response to Wonderwallby Oasisa song that England fans sang after their victory over Ghana on June 17. The match ended 4-2 in favor of the English.
The emotional moment caused such a stir that Wonderwall, also released over 30 years ago, regained popularity and saw a significant increase in its streams on Spotify. In addition, the proposal arose to make it England’s unofficial anthem during the World Cup.
