Investigators from the National Civil Police (PNC) captured Levin “N”, 33 years old, alias “Liro Monstro”, and Irvin “N”, 38 years old, alias “Chaparro”, alleged members of the Barrio 18 criminal structure.
The PNC reported this Friday, July 3, that the arrests occurred at kilometer 51.5 of the bypass towards the highway to El Salvador.
He added that both captured were surprised when they were allegedly picking up a package that pretended to contain Q20 thousand, money that, according to the investigation, was part of an extortion. The suspects demanded an additional Q5 thousand per week from the victim in exchange for not attacking his integrity.
During the operation, four cell phones were also seized that, according to the PNC, were used to communicate with the victim.
In the PNC database, Levin “N” records four records for possession of ammunition, homicide, illegal possession of a firearm, and possession or carrying of a firearm with an altered registration number.
In another operation, anti-narcotics agents captured Gladis “N”, 31, in Zacapa, who was wanted by a court in the capital for the crime of extortion.
