The circulation of goods transport vehicles between Guatemala and Honduras is interrupted this Saturday, July 4, by a group of people who are holding a protest in Jocotán, Chiquimula, on the road that leads to the Integrated Border Point (PFI) El Florido.
The General Directorate of Road Protection and Safety (Provial) reported that the crash is recorded in the km 194 of route CA-11, connection with the PFI El Florido.
Although the demonstration began during the first hours of this Saturday, with the intervention of the National Civil Police (PNC) the road was enabled, allowing the passage of commercial vehicles that remained in line.
Later, the group blocked the road againaccording to representatives of the heavy transport pilots. The protest is related to the increase in local urban transport and the rejection of the measure, according to heavy transport representatives.
The drivers stated that during the morning there was a line of at least seven kilometersbut that, with the intervention of the PNC, vehicles were allowed to pass again, so circulation continues alternately.
One of the effects of the protest is the delay of goods in transit to Guatemala or Honduras.
The PFI continues to operate normally, it was reported.
