With the excitement still latent after the conclusion of the 2026 Fifa World Cup, in which the Spanish team was crowned world champion and won the second world title in its history, international football begins to look towards the next great challenge: the 2030 World Cup, a historic tournament that will commemorate the 100 years of the first World Cup, played in Uruguay in 1930.
The 2030 edition will be unprecedented, since it will be held on three continents. Fifa confirmed that Spain, Portugal and Morocco will be the main venues for the tournament, while Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will host the inaugural commemorative matches for the centenary of the highest competition in world football.

Will there be more teams in the 2030 World Cup?
Although Fifa has not yet confirmed the final format of the tournament, proposals have emerged to expand the World Cup to 64 teams, above the 48 that participated in the 2026 World Cup. The possible expansion continues under analysis and, if approved, would allow more countries to compete in the most important tournament in world soccer.
The 2030 World Cup promises to be one of the most special in history. In addition to commemorating the centenary of the world championships, it will be the first edition held in Europe, Africa and South America, bringing together three continents in the same competition.
