The Guatemalan duo defeated the Mexicans Midori Castillo and Alejandro Hayen in the semifinals with partial scores of 6-4 and 6-3, a result that allowed them to advance to the dispute for the gold medal. The victory demonstrated the understanding and solidity of the Guatemalans, who responded in the decisive moments of the match.
