Due to the change in the head judge of the High Risk Court C, the intermediate stage hearing of the members of Los Calavera, scheduled for July 30, was postponed to August 13, at 9:30 a.m.
Judge Edy Otoniel de León González will be in charge of the High Risk Court C and Judge Carol Yesenia Berganza was transferred to the High Risk Court E, according to judicial sources.
According to the investigation of the Public Ministry (MP), The members of “Los Calavera” are accused of the crime against the general manager and a doctor of a private hospital in zone 10 of the capital, respectively.
The MP has detailed that, during the covid-19 pandemic, the hospital’s board of directors hired the minibus service to transport its staff. “When it was determined that the service was no longer necessary, the decision was made to kill them to maintain the contract. This service was quite onerous, which is why the criminal organization did not want to stop receiving that money,” according to the investigation.
According to the investigations, the crimes were recorded because hiring at the hospital stopped.
Judicial investigations have linked the group to crimes including murder, conspiracy, extortion and conspiracy to commit murder.
During the proceedings related to the case, the authorities have seized cash, weapons and vehicles related to the alleged criminal activities of the structure.
