This is how the next album of La Tona sounds

To the way and Suicide Bengie They are the singles that were advanced to the launch of the album and that began to materialize the plans set several years ago: publish the Third Study Album of the band.

The production parts belong to three epochs. “It has rolas that are very old, which we had never recorded; other recent, in relative terms before the pandemic; and others, such as To the waywhich was practically done and armed in the study, ”says Ernesto” Neco “Arredondo, vocalist.

“It was a long, complex and hybrid process. The people who make up know that it is not the same to have a blank sheet in front of having lines ten years ago,” adds Germanic Barrios, guitarist.

The plate will be made up of at least 12 songs, four from each era. No acoustic issues are expected and the duration will be approximately one hour.

A bridge between the past and present sound

Why did they choose as a second single Suicide Bengiea song already known by the public?

“We are putting together the sound, regrouping the Mara. We wanted that song to come out a little of what people knew and thus recover the public a little. Now two new ones will come,” adds Germanic.

“It is a kind of bridge between what came out and the new album,” says Mario Flores, bassist, who details that, if the two singles are located in a sound spectrum, they would be in the middle, because there are soft and more strong songs.

More syntles, harder

After having experienced sound effects on the previous albums, the band promises a much more raw and direct album.

“In general terms, although there is everything in all songs, it is heavier, more ROCKEROr, more raw, darker. More synthesizers (synthesizers) are used on this album, ”says Mario.

“It is not that I hate the word maturity, but there is an evolution of your sound when you are sure what you want and not be looking for the plethora of effect lists. It is applied in the voice, guitar or drums,” explains Germanic.

The band will have collaborations by Álvaro Rodríguez and Juan Pablo Perea and, for the first time, an arrangement with wind instruments will be included, which can be heard in the next single.

Back to the stage?

The return of La Tona has aroused the desire of his followers to see them again on stage, but they will have to wait for the process of creation of the album to be completed.

“We have very clear ideas. It has to be when all the pieces hunt. Right now we are taking all our time and strength to get the album. We want to offer people for a new touch. It is a way of respecting the public,” says Mario.

“We do not return to make a touch, we return to make an album”

GERMANIC BARRIOS

Germanic emphasizes that the bands have facets and that it has never been easy to do concerts, so when they finish the production process, they will worry about the presentations.

“We are enjoying this stage, we are having a good time. We know that there are many people who look forward to the songs, recordings and sounds,” Barrios adds.

Year of confluence of novelty bands

Regarding that three bands of the nineties coincide in 2025 with the publication of new albums, as is the case of suburban bohemia and green Friday, the tona highlights that each one has remained working at its pace.

“Those have been more active than us during all these years, but what a virgo we converge in this year. It is a very good year for the novelty bands,” says Mario.

Connection with new generations

Although Tona was known by a large audience during the 1990s, they are aware of the generational and technological gap regarding young people today.

“Speaking with kids of my children’s age, several told me that they didn’t know tona, but that when listening The rebound On platforms they were surprised. He came to them. It is different from what they are hearing today, ”says Mario.

For him, the important thing is that the music is made honestly: “If you go with heart, if you are consistent, you get to who you are ready to receive it, regardless of age.”
