Amid a climate of pain and demand for justice, family and friends gave Valeria Márquez, the 23 -year -old whose death has shocked Mexico. The funeral ceremony was held in the Temple of San Bernardo, in the Mezquitán Country colony in Guadalajara.
Valeria’s body left the funeral home at approximately 13.35, in a gray float, escorted by family and friends. During the Mass, the temple was protected by elements of the Municipal Police of Guadalajara, while an honor guard was held to the sides of the coffin.
Valeria was the oldest of two brothers, dreamed of being a dentist and participated in a Jalisco contest. Their relatives trust the authorities to clarify the case, which they consider a femicide, and ask that it is not impunity as one more case.
The funeral was carried out in a cemetery in Zapopan, while the demand for justice by a family that today cries the loss of a young woman described as cheerful, dreamy and solidarity.
