The Brazilian club was classified after having won the Copa Libertadores and stayed with one of Conmebol’s quotas. For its part, the German club, finalist of the latest edition of the UEFA Champions League, said its place in the competition in early 2024 thanks to its position in the UEFA ranking.

The new Tournament organized by FIFA brings together 32 clubs from the six international confederations (AFC, CAF, Concacaf, Conmebol, Ofc and UEFA), with the United States as an organizing country.
The dispute system will be formed by eight areas of four teams each, of which the first two advance to the round of 16. From that stage, a qualifying phase will be played by the single match until reaching the grand final and there will be no duel for third place.
