The advance of the celebration of Lent has left the first scenarios full of faith, devotion and culture, through the processional tours of 2025. The city of Guatemala has become the main scenario of the processional steps, in the midst of the sound of the marches with the Tzijoj, the aroma to incense and the colorful carpets that enhance this liturgical season.
At the beginning of the second week of Lent, the faithful prepare to carry on their shoulders the processional andas with the representations of Jesus, as part of his religious and cultural legacy.
With the progress of the Lent Time, the different brotherhoods have begun to announce the processional courtships scheduled for the month of March. The realization of more than 30 processions is expected during the first 26 days of this liturgical period, with the participation of thousands of Guatemalan devotees and tourists.
For this second week, the official start of the tours on Friday, March 14, has been scheduled and will be completed with seven processional courtships. Therefore, in this guide the schedules, dates and itineraries of each tour are shared.
Processional tours for the second week of Lent 2025
Marking the ninth, tenth and eleventh day of Lent, the processional tours in their second week will take Jesus Nazareno de la Paz, the Virgin of Dolores, Jesús Nazareno de la good death and the Blessed Virgin of Dolores through the streets of the Historic Center.
Friday, March 14
Extraordinary procession: return of the passion set
For the ninth day of Lent, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Sanctuary, Don Bosco, located on 7 avenue and 26 street, zone 1, will travel the streets and avenues carrying the extraordinary procession of Jesús Nazareno de la Paz.

Saturday, March 15
Solemn Infant Procession
Starting with the tenth day of Lent, the children participate in the procession of the children’s images of the Blessed Blessed Rectory, starting from the 9th Avenue and 14 street, zone 1, and returning to the same point.
Unlike the previous route, the parish has separated the steps of Jesús Nazareno and Our Lady of Dolores, with the aim that more devout children can participate in the tour, which this year will include points such as the Temple of San Francisco and the Correos arch.

Procession of the consecrated image of the Virgen de Dolores
With the seven pious prayers of the Virgin Mary, the penitential procession of the second Saturday of Lent will travel part of zone 1, where the faithful will carry on the shoulders the consecrated image of the Blessed Virgin of Dolores, of the Archdiocesan sanctuary of Mr. San José.

VELATION AND PROCESSION OF JESUS OF THE GOOD DEATH AND THE VIRGIN OF DOLORES
To close the activities on Saturday, March 15, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, Temple of Santo Domingo, will carry out the processional courtship of Jesús Nazareno de la Guelra Death and the Blessed Virgin of Dolores.

Sunday March 16
Procession of Jesús Nazareno de la Justicia
The image of Jesus with the Cross will travel the historic center this Sunday, for a total of 14 hours, through different sectors of the capital area. The itinerary will include emblematic points such as the neighborhood of Candelaria, San José and La Merced.

Procession of María Santísima de la Soledad
Known as “Queen of Humanity”, the image of Mary Most Holy of Solitude will take to the streets of the capital city from the parish of the Blessed Name of Jesus, a temple of the collection, to take a seven -hour route, with the purpose of taking comfort and relief to the needs of the devotees.

Franciscan Virgin Procession
Representing the love and pain of a mother in the footsteps of her son, the Blessed Virgin of Dolores de San Francisco will travel the streets of the Historic Center from the Historic Temple of San Francisco, located on the 6th Avenue and 13 Calle, Zone 1. The procession will carry a message of love, delivery and hope in the redemption of Jesus.
