Discover cHow Guatemalans specialized in night photography show the magic of the sky in the exhibition A window to the cosmosin it National Museum of History, zone 1.
Astrophotography is a branch of photography dedicated to capturing images of the sky. Guatemalan experts have managed to stand out in this field. The organizers explain that this experience combines science, art and technology to bring the public closer to the mysteries of the universe through astrophotography. The exhibition will remain open until Friday, October 31.
The project is promoted by the astrophotographer and curator Juan Pablo de la Cruz, together with Pablo Montes, Mario Wünderlich, Sergio Montufar and other members of the Guatemalan Astronomy Association. The works present nebulae, galaxies and celestial landscapes captured from different parts of the country, and reveal the national talent and the beauty of the Guatemalan sky.
“Each photograph is a bridge between art and science; a way of reminding us that the universe is not as far away as it seems, but that it begins in our gaze. We invite everyone to visit the exhibition and be inspired by the greatness of the cosmos that surrounds us,” said De la Cruz.
In addition to the exhibition, the event will include educational workshops with the purpose of promoting interest in astronomy and the exploration of the cosmos among girls, boys, young people and the general public.
