The George Foreman boxer, Olympic champion and twice world champion heavyweight champion dies.

George Foreman, Olympic champion and twice world champion in the heavyweight category, died this Friday, March 21, at age 76, his family reported in a message broadcast on social networks.

Our hearts are shattered. With a lot of pain, we announce the death of our beloved George Foreman Sr., who left in peace on March 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, the note indicates.

Foreman was an Olympic champion at the 1968 Games and obtained twice the world title of heavyweights.

A devout preacher, an exemplary husband, a loving father and a proud grandfather and great -grandfather, lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility and purpose, wrote his family on his Instagram account.

An Humanitarian, an Olympic athlete and twice world champion in heavyweight, was widely respected: a force of good, a disciplined and committed man, defender of his legacy, who fought tirelessly by his name and for his family, they added.

The family of the renowned conflict expressed his gratitude for the signs of support and affection received, and requested respect for his privacy.

Foreman had a legendary trajectory in boxing, between the 1960s and 1990s, and starred in historical fighting against figures such as Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. The Texan boxer conquered the Olympic Gold Medal at the 1968 City Games.
