The new magistracy of the Constitutional Court took possession in the early hours of the morning of this April 14.
Through social networks it was confirmed DC integration for the period 2026-2031, amidst legal actions related to the election of one of its members.
The titular magistrates are Astrid Lemus Rodríguez, Roberto Molina Barrero, Dina Ochoa Escribá, Julia Marisol Rivera and Annabella Morfín Masilla; the latter being the one assumes the first Presidency of the body.
In turn, the substitute magistrates are Luis Fernando Bermejo, Luis Rosales Marroquín, Claudia Paniagua Pérez, José Luis Aguirre Pumay and María Magdalena Jocholá.
At 0.45 a.m., three magistrates asked Morfin to know the protection filed by lawyer Raúl Falla against the nomination commission for the election of attorney general of the Public Ministry, to define whether judges are suitable or not as candidates.
The letter was signed by Molina Barreto, Ochoa and Rivera.
“There are many pending issues, There are so many questions to a system that we know require important changes“But we must begin by listening to these aspects and return to the position of a court that occupies a central place in our legal system, helping to strengthen our institutions and our democracy, a task that requires the greatest commitment,” said the president. Bernardo Arevalo during the April 13 press conference.
