The Insivumeh reported that The rainy season of 2026 in Guatemala could begin earlier than usual in several regions, derived from atypical climatic conditions associated with ocean-atmospheric factors.

Since the night of Saturday, April 18, and on Sunday, April 19, rain was recorded in several sectors of the country.

To find out how the weather will continue, Insivumeh shared the bulletin on rain and heat conditions from Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24.

The forecast highlights that there will be morning fog, a warm atmosphere during the day and partly cloudy skies, alternating with little cloudiness.

The Insivumeh highlights the possibility of drizzle and/or rain accompanied by electrical activity in the afternoon and night in the national territory.

The rains for this week are associated with the entry of humidity from both coastlines and instability in the Pacific due to low pressure systems.

According to the forecast, rains could increase starting Thursday, from the south to the center of the country.

According to the bulletin, on the central plateau, which includes the capital, fog is expected in the morning, partly cloudy skies and a hot and humid environment.

An increase and development of cloudiness is also expected in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of drizzle and/or rain with electrical activity.

In regions of the Pacific, little cloudiness is expected, a warm environment with smoke and an increase and development of cloudiness in the afternoon and evening, with rain and electrical activity. These may be more intense starting Thursday.

In the northern region, morning fog is expected, partially cloudy skies alternating with little cloudiness and drizzle and/or scattered rain with electrical activity at the beginning of the week. The wind will be light northwest at the beginning of the week and will change to northeast starting on Thursday.

For the Motagua region, the eastern valleys, Alta Verapaz, the Caribbean and the Northern Transversal Strip, the possibility of drizzle and/or scattered rain with electrical activity is forecast in the afternoon and evening.
