Nate Cooper (Adrian Grenier), partner of Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) in the first installment of The devil wears fashionwas not included in the sequel. The film’s director explained why he had to leave it out.
According to David Frankel, director of The Devil Wears Prada 2, I had considered including the character in some scenes of the new production; However, it was impossible to do so due to lack of time.
“I had the idea of including him in a cameo, but in the end it was too late in our production schedule to make it possible”he said in statements to the magazine Entertainment Weeklywithout specifying what the character’s role would have been in the new story.
However, previously Grenier had expressed his disappointment at not having been contacted to participate in the sequel production. “We’re all fans of the movie, whether we’re in it or not. Obviously, it was a disappointment that they didn’t call me to be in it. But I also understand that there is some controversy with Nate, the character, so that could have something to do with it,” he told Page Six.
The actor recalled that His character was selfish and self-centered, and made no effort to support Andy in his career.; By being left out of the new film, he does not rule out the possibility of future productions with him.
“In any case, leaves the door open to a magnificent spin-off where Nate gets his own movie”, he expressed.
After his participation in The devil wears fashionin 2006, Grenier continued his career in different series and film productions. He even returned to embody the character of Nate in an advertising campaign.
“I think I’m delighted that he made a Starbucks commercial; It was very funny and very self-ironic. I like the humor and humility of that.”said the director regarding Grenier’s work.
ANDThe Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in Latin American theaters this Thursday, April 30 and, in the United States, on Friday, May 1. In Guatemala there will be previews on Wednesday, April 29 at night in the Cinemark, Albacinema and Cinépolis chains.
