donald trump assured this April 30, during an event in the Oval Office, that the Venezuelan candidate María Corina Machado, When he gave her the Nobel Peace Prize, he told her that she “didn’t deserve it.”

During the event, the president began to talk about the Venezuelan activist, even though no questions related to her were asked.

“Maria was very kind. She gave me her Nobel Peace Prize because she said I didn’t deserve it. She was very, very kind. But I solved eight wars and, in every case, people — prime ministers or presidents — wrote me letters thanking me,” Trump told those present.

After talking about Machado, Trump once again insisted that he had been responsible for ending several war conflicts in the world, especially when questioned by the Space Force, a branch of the US Armed Forces.

“As far as peace goes, I’ve resolved eight wars; people try to question that, but then they look at it and, in almost every case, they’ve sent letters thanking me, as well as letters to the Nobel Committee. Although that doesn’t matter to me“said the president.

It was on January 15 when Machado presented Donald Trump with the Nobel Peace Prize medal, during a private meeting at the White House.

Machado, who has repeatedly praised Trump and, especially, the operation in which Nicolás Maduro was captured, has been criticized for the gesture due to the American president’s record.

This is because, in the last year alone, it has started a war against Iran, it has activated a summary execution operation against vessels that supposedly traffic drugs in the Caribbean and the Pacificand has implemented aggressive campaigns against migrants in the US.

After the capture of Maduro, the Republican has praised the figure of Machado, but has insisted on supporting an interim presidency in Venezuela of the Chavista Delcy Rodríguez, of whom He has said that he is doing an excellent job and cooperating fully with the dictates of Washington.
