Pablo Centrone presented his resignation as coach of Club Deportivo Guastatoya this Thursday, in a decision that was made official by the president of the institution a few hours before the first leg of the Clausura 2026 quarterfinals against Municipal, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the David Cordón Hichos Stadium.
The departure of the Argentine coach comes as a surprise at the most important moment of the season for the Pecho Amarillo, who just the previous Sunday had managed to qualify for the league after beating Marquense 4-0 on the last day of the regular phase.
Centrone arrived on the Guastatoya bench in September 2025 with the task of removing the team from the danger zone and qualifying it for the league, objectives that he fully fulfilled.
However, as it turned out, the coach expressed dissatisfaction with situations related to some players on the team, circumstances that led him to make the decision to step aside despite having the support of the club’s leadership. The Board of Directors took note of his decision and made the departure of the Argentine strategist official.
With the resignation confirmed, Guastatoya will have to define in the next few hours who will be on the bench tonight against Municipal and in the second leg on Sunday at El Trébol. Everything indicates that Luis Pedro Molina, the team’s goalkeeping coach, will be in charge of directing the Pecho Amarillo in this crucial stretch of the competition, although the Board of Directors has not yet made an official statement on the matter.
